Differences Between OCB and Vacuum Circuit Breakers in Power Systems
Circuit breakers are essential protective devices used in electrical power systems to interrupt fault currents and protect electrical equipment from damage. Among the various types, the Oil Circuit Breaker (OCB) and the Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) are widely used. An Oil Circuit Breaker uses insulating oil as both the arc-quenching medium and electrical insulation. When the contacts separate, the electrical arc is extinguished inside the oil.
